I searched for a website where i can look for some travel information about the northern areas of Pakistan and discuss about the possible trips but could not find one. I think there needs to be a website/blog where this information is available and more importantly people can share their knowledge and also contribute to the information present for others guidance. The information I would like to see include maps, places, possible plans, pictures, tracking routes, ground facts and may be some more in long run.
Where is the Money
When we have significant number of hits we can create money through google ads and may be some local tour operators may also be intersted in advertizing at the site

http://wikitravel.org/en/Pakistan This is the wiki so everyone can contribute. There is already quite some information but you are welcome to add more about the Northern areas.
http://www.lonelyplanet.com/worldguide/pakistan/ Lonelyplanet is known to be the most authentic tourism resource worldwide. You must have seen their books.
http://www.cybercity-online.net/Pakistan/html/northern_pakistan.html Not very user friendly but a decent amount of info is available. Don’t forget to check out the KKH map on this site. It is huge and a contribution by a foreign traveler.

There are a lot of website for that but i couldnt find anyone usefull enough.
Lets analyze the ones u mentioned.
1. http://wikitravel.org/en/Pakistan
A good site which is good to check before leaving for any place BUT not comprehensive enough to help the tourists (local and foreign). Its not the concept I am talking about.
2. http://www.lonelyplanet.com/worldguide/pakistan/
A would say a very very nice site and may have quite much of the ingredient I am talking about BUT I coudnt find more then 3-4 places in northern ares on this site. Which is may be 5% of what I am talking about.
3. http://www.cybercity-online.net/Pakistan/html/northern_pakistan.html
The good thing about this site is that it has some good maps but very little information.
But if we talk about a website with the style of the second one and more detailed info then it will be great.
Actually there are quite many sites giving information about the cities or famous sots like hunza or deosai but I still cant find a comprehensive one which goes beyond the city related content.
Even today some book tells me more about the northern areas of pakistan. Its technology age shouldnt there be a better repository than a book with the added discussion feature.
Any person having some experience of traveling and tourism related discussions can help alot in finding if there exists a website lke that.

This is a good first-hand resource: http://offroadpakistan.com
Its in blog format. But all the content is original and direct experience of the club members. I guess, we can find a handful of information from this site.
But the idea Ahmad rolled out still remains open. I think Offroad Pakistan guys can build such a website.

All it needs is some serious contribution from every one of us. The effort should be put on mobilizing people to ‘contribute’ .. rather than coming up with yet another website in this case.
