What is it

The Idea is all about the creation of the system to maintain the health of any project as easily as possible.
I am talking about a web based “Issue / bug / Suggestion / Change Request / Requirement / Wish” reporting system which can be used for any running project, like most of you must be familiar with Microsoft Team Foundation System which is just released in 2008, TFS is about the same thing, a web based system where issues can be reported to respective people under relevant projects.

I would like to give my own example here, for instance i am working on three projects and and regularly i am asked to solve issues or i get a change request from client to change something in the website, and this all is happening manually, so i can ask my client to report all the issues, Change Requests, Requirements on that site under relative project and assign that issue to me, after the issue is assigned to me, i will fix it and tell the client about the resolution (through the same system). This way a history is also maintained about “number of issues found in any project”. ” time spent to resolve those issues.” and so on.

Why is it needed

Actually I used TFS, and i am impressed, but i can not use that for my own projects because for that i will have to install the servers and I will also have to host TFS so that i can get access to it from any where any time. This is the only reason i wanted to create this system so that not only me but any body including companies / organizations / software houses, could log on and see their relative projects and their work items (i.e. Issue / bug / Suggestion / Change Request / Requirement / Wish etc.)

Where is the money

As I was talking about companies / software houses, so we can ask them to get registered on the system first and charge them for registration. For single users like myself, it should be free to an extent but after that they must be charged as well.

there are tons of project management applications that include bug/feature reporting and their management. (Also some open source ones –u can google them up)

The one that I use for work is
    http://www.axosoft.com/

Its free for single users. And has a desktop app and a web access for your projects.

    What about bugzilla?

  3. November 29th, 2008 at 10:05 pm #Mohammad Nawaz

Yes, there are quite a few applications available, though bugzilla is quite a bane for installing. Common SVN applications (version management), it comes with a usable bug reporting system.

However, we already have a hosted solution, which people can use on the fly, and with limited features available for free for one person (kind of matches the idea mentioned above), and with add-on cost for each user and features addition.

For further information, let me know if I can help you guys.

    Thanks.

    @ All,
thanx for your comments, actaully these days i am working on three projects at a time and eventually it became difficult for me to sort out all the requests from clients, so i thought to have a place on the fly where all the requests are kept so that i or my client could easily sort which requests are completed and which are not, anyways, thanx to all.

    @ Arfeen,
I visited the site you told, but could not reach to the end point, i could not get what actually that site is doing… so much difficult to understand.. :(

    @ MQP,
I was just having a glance on bugzilla and found out that i will have to download the software/installation files to use bugzilla,… actually i wanted to create a system and host it, so that any single user/organization could easily use it on the fly…

    @ Muhamamd Nawaz,
that is what i wanted, do let me know further about it…
    thanx!
