Q.1) Why would anyone discuss his/her ideas so openly on Ideas Hut?

Ans.) Many of us are already doing that anyway. We post ideas on our blogs, we recommend ideas to our friends during IM chats or coffee shop conversations and/or we post them in forums. So, why not centralize all that and expand the circle discussing them. That will be useful in the end. More people reading ideas leads to more people discussing them, hence increasing the chances of an idea getting implemented.

Q.2) How can I contribute an idea?

Ans.) If you have come across anything that has tickled you brain cells and you have come up with an idea that you want to share with the world via Ideas Hut then you simply have to use your 10 best friends-your fingers to fill out the “Roll Out An Idea” form. All ideas submitted through this form are published on Ideas Hut.

Q.3) How can I trust you and submit my idea. What if you publish my idea with your or somebody else’s name?

Ans.) Adam and Eve trusted Mr. Devil and got ditched but Devil’s entry into Ideas Hut is STRICTLY prohibited so, we assure you that you won’t get ditched here and any idea(s) you contribute will be published with your name. We believe in creating a trust based network and are striving for the same.

Q.4) How can I participate in the discussions going on about different ideas?

Ans.) A thinking mind and fingers making the key strokes is all what you need to participate in the discussions going on about any idea. Simply open the page which contains the idea(clicking the idea title opens its page) you want to share your thoughts about and then you can use the comment form on that page to jump in the discussion.

Q.5) Why would anyone be interested in implementing any of the ideas from Ideas Hut?

Ans.) Many a times we come across worried students who have failed to find some cool yet practical ideas that they can build their final year projects on. Then their is a whole lot of crazy hobbyists whose hobby is to keep working on different IT projects and then we have desperate souls who want to get a new service or an application which doesn’t exist but since they themselves are willing to have it, they are passionate about implementing it as well. These are the people who will take the ideas discussed on Ideas Hut forward and will execute them.

Q.6) Will the contributor receive any credit which his/her ideas gets implemented?

Ans.) All the contributors will certainly be recognized if and when their ideas are picked up for implementation; as all the ideas discussed at Ideas Hut are subjected to the terms and conditions defined in the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0.

Q.7) I have contributed an idea but it does not appear on the Ideas Hut site. Why is it so?

Ans.) We had the option of using smart bots which can post the ideas submitted via the “Roll Out An Idea” form, but we found ourselves to be smarter. So, all the contributed ideas are first reviewed by humans to check their appropriateness for publication on Ideas Hut. This process may take from a few minutes to a few hours. However, if your submitted idea does not appear on the site even after 24-36 hours of submission then feel free to bug us using the ‘Contact Us‘ form.

Q.8) I don’t understand the business model that Ideas Hut is based upon. How do you people manage to make money out of it or even sustain it?

Ans.) Ideas Hut was born when two passionate Pakistanis decided to have a corner on the web where people could discuss any idea that pops up in their mind and which they want to share with others on a public forum. When those passionate Pakistanis further brainstormed, they started believing that such a forum could possibly become a birth place of some really cool and valuable projects. However, during this entire thought process, they never talked what monetary benefits could Ideas Hut bring to themselves; because they strongly believe that not all things in the world are done for money. Money no doubt plays a very important role but when anything grows through a combined effort of different people from the society then it turns out to be self-sustainable and benefits that society at large. So, with such a thinking, they moved ahead without having any business model because they believe their reward will be the services and projects that emerge from the ideas discussed here.

Q.9) If Ideas Hut does not bring money then how do you sustain it?

Sustaining Ideas Hut has more to do with the participation from the community rather than the money, for it requires intellectual capital more. Hosting and maintaining Ideas Hut is something we can do and are doing voluntarily, however, still if it at any point we fall short of bucks required to sustain it, then we can raise that amount through different things like Google Ads etc. However, that is something that we will avoid for as long as we can and most probably always.
